What is Gut Health?
Symptoms related to the digestive system vary from person to person. Common symptoms include: gas, bloating, pain, heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, brain fog, anxiety, allergies, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. Because the digestive system is reflective of our immune and brain health, it is important to find the root cause of disease and restore digestive function. A key sign of a healthy digestive system is the absence of permeability in the lining of the gut – when the gut is “leaky,” we experience one or more of the symptoms listed above.

How are gut issues treated?
Conventional treatment for gut issues includes medications, lifestyle support, and dietary changes.
Using my holistic approach, I am able to dig deeper and understanding that is going on at a cellular level. I use laboratory results to evaluate nutritional status, intestinal permeability, inflammation markers, heavy metal toxicity, food allergies and sensitivities, and much more. I also evaluate the mental, emotional, and physical health as connected health determinants, as they play an important role in our gut health. This is because physical manifestations of disease are often rooted in imbalances at a deeper level that is not necessarily isolated to a single organ or organ system, and rather, affects the whole body. My comprehensive health recommendations promote vitality and longevity, and are inclusive of clinical nutrition therapy, supplementation, lifestyle interventions, botanical medicine, and mindfulness.
